CATC provides free spay and neuter services to homeless, stray, and community cats to support trap-neuter-return across Los Angeles City and County.
All spay/neuter services for Community Cats include pain meds, basic antibiotics, subcutaneous fluids administration, ear tipping, flea treatment, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, and deworming (only as needed). Other additional services that may be provided at no cost are Cryptorchid surgery (Inguinal or abdominal), pregnant and in-heat and umbilical hernia repair
This item can only be prescribed by the attending veterinarian after careful examination of the cat.
We can insert a microchip upon request
Other surgeries such as laceration repair, eye removal surgery (enucleation), arm/leg/tail amputation may be offered. Pricing may vary depending on the situation.
Note: Payment is due the day services are performed. We accept cash, debit and credit cards. We do not accept checks. The Community Cat TNR program is not for pets, rescue/foster cats or other tame cats. It is specifically for the homeless, feral, and stray cats in our community who do not have a proper home.
Free spay/neuter of community cats is provided by appointment only. To request an appointment, individuals must first complete a free training session with CATC to become an approved trapper. This training will prepare you to safely trap and transport cats before and after surgery.
